Edrawings Pro comes with SW Pro/Premium. I believe the network license treats each 'SW Pro/Premium' as a total package, not separate entities. In other words, if someone were to want to use the Edrawings Pro, it would be seen by the networking app as using a node of the SW major licenses. Note: SOLIDWORKS Professional and SOLIDWORKS Premium will still come with a license of eDrawings Professional. SOLIDWORKS Standard still includes the free version of eDrawings. From this point forward, all new functionality in eDrawings Professional 2019 and later will be available in eDrawings Professional only. EDrawings Products eDrawings ® products include the eDrawings Viewer, available in free and fee-based versions, and eDrawings Publishers. The Viewer is used to view and create eDrawings files and other supported file types. The publishers are used to create eDrawings files from inside CAD applications.

View and create eDrawings files and other supported file types. A free version and a fee-based eDrawings Professional version exist (See Licensing).

A SOLIDWORKS installation includes the SOLIDWORKS Document Manager, SWDocumentMgr.dll. When eDrawings is installed on a system without SOLIDWORKS, drawings that include elements such as custom properties and tables may not be displayed with their most current data. When you open a SOLIDWORKS drawing, you are warned about the missing DLL and given the option to install it. If you continue without doing the download, SOLIDWORKS drawings that rely on the DLL are marked with a warning that some of the content may not be up-to-date.

To use the file reference checking for standalone eDrawings installations, you must download and install the SOLIDWORKS Document Manager when prompted. The Mac OS® version of eDrawings cannot check file references.

eDrawings Publishers

Create eDrawings files from inside CAD applications. Currently there are publishers for these applications:

  • NX™/Unigraphics®
  • Pro/ENGINEER®
  • Solid Edge®
  • SOLIDWORKS® The eDrawings Publisher is installed with the SOLIDWORKS application.
  • STEP/IGES/STL, DWG/DXF files, and Rhino formats
  • Vero VISI

These applications are installed directly on the local hard drive.

Edrawings Professional Free Downloads

Professional
Some CAD applications install the eDrawings application when you install the CAD application. Check your local hard drive for an installed version of the eDrawings application.
